Knockdhu Distillery was founded in 1864 to embody the innovative vision of its founder, John Morrison. The natural ingredients that could be found near the area, such as barley and peat, but also crystalline springs, made it possible to produce single malts in one of the most modern distilleries of the time. Even though Knockdhu has already celebrated 125 years, the methods by which whiskey is produced have not changed much, as the desire to use only natural ingredients and traditional distillation have been passed on in every bottleof whiskey. The peat is still traditionally processed, being left to dry naturally for a few weeks, before being used to give the liquor its specific taste.
