Appleton Estate is one of the oldest and most prestigious rum-producing brands, established in 1779. Cane is grown, harvested and processed from the Jamaican plantation, thus obtaining molasses. It goes through a distillation process in traditional copper boilers, and the liquors obtained are carefully selected for Appleton Estate Rare Blend 12 Years. Each of the rums used for this assortment is matured for at least 12 years in American oak barrels, and the result is an explosion of notes and hot aromas, specific to the Caribbean area. Appleton Estate Rare Blend 12 Years opens with robust vanilla tones and spices, but the aroma is what adds depth to the liqueur, offering rich and creamy molasses accents. The maturation process also leaves its mark on Appleton Estate Rare Blend 12 Years, returning in the aftertaste with woody oak touches. Tasting notes: Smell: The bouquet displays full-bodied tones of walnuts, warm vanilla and spices, covered by the creaminess of the butter Taste: The aroma is rich and complex, with hints that make us think of molasses and biscuits Finish: Long and rich, with oak accents Color: Copper
