Haig is a whiskey traditionally considered the first distillate in this range of beverages, and was relaunched in 1824 200 years after the first bottling by John Haig, the successor of Robert Haig, who founded the world’s first whiskey distillery in 1655. Prepared only from single malts from Scottish regions such as Glenkinchie and Linkwood, it retains the wild but refined notes specific to these varieties. The history of this blend is a rich one. Over time, famous personalities have appreciated the rich aromas of Haig Gold label, being some famous names who prefer this refined blend. After 1960, the way in which the promotion of this brand was approached was a factor that increased its popularity. Haig’s texture is complex and refined, revealing a strong personality around each glass around the refined notes of malt, wood, honey and smoke. The taste that can be detected is fine, dominated by honey, citrus and caramel. The finish is persistent, long and refined.
