Henri Bourgeois Petit Clos Pinot Noir What is this Petit Clos  Petit Clos is a selection of grapes from the youngest vines. We wanted to design a very tasty Pinot Noir, fruity and with a good structure. This wine is a blend from 3 different soil types: Wither clay, Broadbridge clay, Greywacke stone. Rigorous selection and great attention to detail continue in the winery to better illustrate the qualities of the Clos Henri terroir. According to French tradition, the plants are grown at a high density (twice the average in New Zealand). combinesd with low production, better fruit positioning and better vineyard management are achieved. In addition, due to the windy days specific to the area, a good aeration of the vineyard is obtained. The young calves are located on clay and gravel soils at the intersection of the Waihopai and Wairau rivers. The fruits are harvested at the optimum time in terms of maturity (optimal level of delicate tannins, fruit and acidity) . Bouquet: a floral wine with hints of violets and red cherries supported by tasty features; a subtle note of smoke and mushroom aromas. Taste: a generous wine in terms of taste; complex with hints of chocolate and berries. Wine is a delicate and feminine expression of the Pinot Noir variety. Potential for aging: 3-4 years.
