Japanese Hojicha gin is pure delight! We say it and all those who let themselves be carried away by its natural, familiar and yet so special aromas, perfect in combinestion with tonic water, mineral water or … hot water. The lightly browned green tea leaves are the star ingredient of this gin, which acquires almost mystical values in the tasting, developsng vegetal and woody tones. Kagoshima is one of the Japanese regions famous for its tea production, but also the place where the Komasa distillery is located, that’s why we are talking about a perfect fusion of taste, possible only here. The green tea leaves acquire a shade of red-chestnut after browning, and the aromas are exponentially enhanced, so that Hojicha, the final product, gives not only the name of this gin, but also the uniqueness of its taste. Of course, in addition to tea, gin also includes other plants, namely juniper and Japanese cypress, both of which sustainably support and balance the aromatic palette throughout the tasting. Tasting notes: Smell: Raw-woody bouquet, driven by shades of green leaves and pine needles. Taste: Clean aromas of green leaves and juniper, wrapped in sweet-wood accents and tea shades. Finish: Discreet aroma , with cypress accents. Color: Colorless.
