Recas Solo Quinta White 6 x 750ml
Solo Quinta is a rare wine, born from the imagination and love of wine of oenologist Hartley Smithers. It is an unusual blend, between four white varieties and a red variety vinified in White. This blend changes every year depending on the grapes that give the best performance in that season. The best of the best grapes can be found here, in the Solo Quinta blend.
Grapes: Chardonnay (51%), Fetească Regală (17%), Sauvignon Blanc (15%), Muscat Ottonel (15%), Cabernet Sauvignon (2%)
Solo Quinta White won the Grand Prize (the best dry white wine in the competition) at Vinalies Internationales 2011. The Grand Prize is an important international wine competition in France. As a result it is probably the most important distinction given to a Romanian wine.
Color: straw-yellow wine is brilliant.
Bouquet: dominated by floral notes – acacia, shock, white flowers, vines, with mineral touches of flint and dust. After aeration, shades of white and exotic fruits begin to be felt. Well integrated in a lively, harmonious and intense ensemble, truly unique and original.
Taste: tasteful. Surprisingly lively, despite its medium to dense body. The contribution of each variety is felt as in a choir, without any of the grapes trying to take over the first voice. From white fruit to flowers and back, with solid support from mineral accents and acidity, the wine reveals its complexity over time.
Culinary associations: saltwater fish, prepared with sauces: meunier or beurre blanc; lobster and crab; poultry-based baked goods. It can even be paired with ultra-tender Wagyu beef.
Serving temperature: 8 – 10 °C.
