Terra Pretiosa Feteasca Black, Ecological, Franco-Roman DomainsOn the slopes of DEALU MARE, Feteasca Black, a typical Romanian variety, gives elegant but solid wines. Aging in new oak barrels in the bourguingnona manner adds roundness and finesse to the wines. At the end of the tasting, notes of red berries appear. This wine has a great potential for aging. Located in terraces, the plots of the Feteasca Black variety have production yields often below 30 hl / hectare. These vines are grown in accordance with the rules of organic farming, ie without the use of synthetic chemical pesticides. They are certified by the company Ecocert, a body approved by the EEC under the amended EC regulation 2092/9. The DEALU MARE vineyard is the most well-known wine region for red varieties in Romania. It stretches for 60 km on the hills southeast of the Carpathians, enjoying the sun in the morning and throughout the day. The soils on which our vineyards are planted with Whiteand red grapes are clay-limestone. 3000 years ago, these vineyards were already cultivated in the territories inhabited by the Dacians, and their wines were famous throughout Europe. When the Romans conquered the Dacian lands in the 2nd century, on the coins of the new province “Dacia Felix”, a woman was representsd offering wheat and grapes.
