The Kurayoshi 8 Years is a blended whiskey unique in that it gathers features from two corners of the world famous for whiskey – the traditional Scotland and the new world of whiskey, Japan. Matsui Shuzo Distillery is the birthplace of this malted whiskey blend that carries a special charm, a charm that is largely due to the pure spring water filtered through volcanic rock that is part of it. The blend is aged for 8 years in Whiteoak barrels, previously used for bourbon, so it develops a complex character, with influences reminiscent of the Highlands region of Scotland.
