Unicum Zwack is a liqueur infused with over 40 herbs which makes it have a unique taste. The procedure by which the aroma and taste are extracted are maceration and distillation, and here the technique used is representstive of Unicum, part of the herbs are macerated, and the other part is distilled. Basically during maceration, the herbs are immersed in corn alcohol, a process that gives an intense and rich taste. The aging process takes place in oak barrels for a period of at least 6 months, and this process has remained unchanged since the beginning of production in 1790 in Budapest, Hungary, aging in oak barrels give the final complexity of taste and aromatic profile.
