Astoria Classic El Ruden Veneto Rosso is a wine produced on the hilly lands of the Astoria property, at a height of 120-150 meters from varieties appreciated by red grapes by the Gujot growing technique. Color: ruby ​​red. Bouquet: intense, with various spicy notes, well harmonized by the aroma of the wood. Taste: soft, with a large structure, with a strong endowment in flavor and tannin, well balanced. Culinary combinations: Whitemeat, red meat and cheeses. Serving temperature 16-18 ° C. The vineyards are oriented north-south and east-west, with approximately 4,000-4,500 vines per hectare. The vineyards are 8-15 years old. The average production is about 1.5-2 kg of grapes per stem (700-800 kilograms per hectare) . The grapes are harvested by hand in September / October and placed in small baskets. Some of them (about 10%) are dried quickly and left to mature for 3 months. The rest are removed from the bunches and left to ferment in the shell for about 15-20 days at a temperatureof 26-28 ° C. After removing the shells the malolactic fermentation process is completed in stainless steel tanks. Same procedure , after completion of drying, apply to the other grapes. All the mixtures are combinesd and then transferred to Allier French oak barrels, in which they are aged for 8/9 months before bottling. Subsequent aging will give substance to the solid and authoritative character of this wine, which obtains a strong personality from dried grapes.
