Brunello di Montalcino Massimo DOCG 2006, VILLA LE PRATA, VILLA LE PRATA (in wooden box) “Massimo” is the selection of the best wine of the property, produced only during large harvests and in a limited number of 600 bottle. Vinified in steel tanks for approx. 20 days, is subject to a maturation period of approx. 4.5 years in 5 hl French wooden barrels and 30 hl Slovenian barrels. It is left in the bottlefor five months before being tasted. Bright red. ; Aromas of red currant musk, raspberry and licorice, complicated by hints of smoked meat and mocha. The rich acidity, full and wide, but harmonious, beautifully frames the concentrated aromas of strawberries, licorice and dark chocolate. A very good show for this Brunello Riserva.VILLA LE PRATA was built in 1860 by the Count of Vecchi as a hunting ground, after which it became the country residence of the bishop of Montalcino.
