The Catleya estate is located in Corcova, Mehedinți. There a hundred years ago, the vineyards of the diplomat prince Anton Bibescu were.

With Proust in mind and the Orient Express trip he dreamed of to visit, Prince Bibescu in Corcova, the Catleya domain created the Epopee wine collection.

The wines in the Epopee range are made only in excellent years. Made in a small quantity, from the best grapes of that year. Receive all the care, experience and skill of the oenologist. They are the result of a selection of grapes vinified and matured separately, in new Romanian oak barrels for 18 months for Epopee red.

Thus Catleya obtained some gastronomic, complex, structured wines. Offer a wide range of pleasant aromas and with a great aging potential.

This red wine is a blend of Merlot (50%) and Cabernet Franc (50%).

Color: ruby red.

Bouquet: Cabernet Franc gives the nose a floral and lively character. Merlot fully plays its part, bringing richer blackberry and blackcurrant notes to the background. The oak brings discreet notes of vanilla and dark chocolate.

Taste: this perfect symbiosis of grape varieties with Romanian oak is found on the palate. There strength and freshness combine for the best. The result is a silky texture, chiseled tannins and a long finish that promises a bright future.

Food parings: We recommend serving this wine with red meat dishes and cheeses.

Serving temperature 16 – 18 °C.
