Catleya Perfect Simple Syrah

The Perfect Simplu range is, first of all, a tribute to Oltenia, Catleya’s adoption region. It is also a range of monovarietal wines, designed and vinified to highlight the typicality of each variety.

The wines are made with wild yeasts (which are naturally found on the skins of the grapes), so that the result is as faithful as possible to the exceptional land of Corcova.

For each wine, between 15 and 25% of the total volume is aged in Romanian oak barrels for approximately one year.

Color: this wine, made from Syrah grapes, with a purple color.

Bouquet: This wine has notes of red fruits and fresh thyme, and on the finish there is the feeling of chocolate and sweet spices, due to the aging of the wine in oak barrels.

Taste: round and balanced tannic structure, specific to the grape variety, and reinforced by aging in Romanian oak barrels.

Main stages of the development of this wine: handpicked in crates. sorted on a vibrating table; pre fermentation maceration for 9 days to extract color and aromas; alcoholic fermentation performed by indigenous yeasts.

Post fermentation maceration for 12 days to extract tannins; malolactic fermentation performed by indigenous yeasts; aging on fine lees during 10 months (80% of the volume in stainless tanks and 20% of the volume in new medium roasted 225 L Romanian barrels).
