Château Pavie has its roots in Roman times. At first, it was known for the Pavie peach crop – hence the name passed down through the centuries. But the estate as we know it today would take shape only at the end of the 19th century, when the merchant Ferdinand Bouffard began to buy the plots around his property, Domaine de la Sable, reaching 50 ha. His successor, Whitert Porte, unifies the properties and thus brings to life the Château Pavie wine estate. In 1943, he was bought by the Valette family, and after 12 years he was awarded the title of Premier Grand Cru Classé.
