Domains Recas Gewurztraminer

Gewürzramminer is a variety known for its intense floral aromas rose and spicy aftertaste. Also known as “Pink Traminer”, this variety was first planted in our vineyard by schwabi. These were Germanic people, brought by Maria-Theresia during the Habsburg empire.

For the semi-sweet white wine from the Recaş Domains, grapes with a slightly pinkish skin they are picked at night in cool temperatures. This allows the preservation of freshness, maximum aromas, and must clarity.

Vinification is done in neutral vessels stainless steel. Fermentation stops at about 12% alcohol to preserve a remainder of natural sugar. This perfectly suits the aromatic profile of this variety.

Color: straw yellow with greenish reflections; crystalline.

Bouquet: aromas of rose juice; exotic fruits (mango, papaya); shades of fruit with white core (peach, apricot). Very acidic good, slightly citrusy, round, balanced with a post taste marked by notes of white pepper and honey.

Culinary associations: foie gras terrines; fresh cheeses; noble mold cheeses; desserts based on vanilla and fruit creams; italian meringue and ice cream.

Serving temperature: 6 – 9°C.

The Recaș Domains collection was launched in 2016. On the occasion of the official 25th anniversary of Recaș Wineries. It is the first range of wines in the portfolio of the Banat producer that includes in the name or denomination of the Recas region.

It represents a stylized map of the region according to an original model taken from a lithograph of Banat dating from the eighteenth century. Uses the technique of braille embossing. Thus, the labels can be recognized on the shelf by blind people as well. Made, according to the Normacorc patent, from a polymer of sugar cane oil. Result guarantees the absence of contaminants specific to cork stoppers and a greater strength and elasticity over time.
