Description Magnum Estate Argyros Wine 2016 Magnum -1.5L

General Comments: Founded in 1903, the Argyros property is located on the island of Santorini, famous for its spiral vines and Whitechurches. . In 1950, the Argyros vineyards were inherited by the founder’s son, who tripled the land from 5 to 15 hectares. Yiannis Argyros, the third generation, which took over the business in 1974, began to look beyond the local market. Today, Mathew Argyros, the fourth generation of winemakers in the family, continues his father’s legacy, making legendary Asyrtiko wines and other indigenous varieties from Santorini, using traditional techniques. Pyrgos, excellent location for Assyrtiko. Black beef vineyards range from 30 to over 150 years old and are grown in the shape of a basket and a traditional technique called “kouloura”. The inorganic soil of Santorini is naturally immune to Phylloxera and many other vine pests, reducing the need for synthetic herbicides and pesticides. This wine has a stellar acidity and shows a fine tension on the finish. Light yellow color with shades of green. Whole wine with a clear acidity, a great structure, intensity and complex aromas of lemon blossom and citrus fruits.
