L’Aventure was founded in 1998 by French oenologist Stéphan Asseo. His family bought the first estate in Bordeaux, Domaine de Courteillac, in 1982. They were soon followed by Château Robin and Château Fleur-Cardinale in Saint-Emilion. Stéphan raised the level of family property, while working for several other well-known properties in Bordeaux, such as Château Guillot-Clauzel in Pomerol and Château Corbin in St Emilion. At the same time, he discovered the New World which offered him a unique opportunity to diversify his experience, having more freedom in the vineyard and vinification. After scouring all of California for the desired terroir, he was eventually conquered by Paso Robles. Located between Los Angeles and San Francisco, his Paso Robles vineyard quickly became a symbol of the region. 100% new French oak. Matured for 15 months in French oak.
