Penfolds Koonunga Hill Seventy Six Shiraz – Cabernet was launched from the 2006 harvest, thirty years after the original 1976 Penfolds Koonunga Hill wine, and pays homage to a remarkable style. It is a refined version of its colleague from 1976 and has an “additional size and complexity”. Koonunga Hill Seventy Six Shiraz Cabernet is made for the tastes of contemporary consumers. Like all Koonunga Hill red wines, it will also benefit from a few extra years of age in the bottle Color: vibrant bright red. Bouquet: youthful, reflecting a note of fragrant exotic from the Middle East – Moroccan spices, Turkish delicacies, sliced dates, rose water … extra fruit (damson plums) and cold toasted lamb remind of several surroundings local. Oak tree Just a little. Taste: Balanced and even, with a medium body. The predominant fruits are mulberry and cherry red. They will eventually turn into glass. Tannins, acidity and oak in unison conspire together. The second sip is better than the first … always a good sign.
