Recas Oaks Merlot is part of the Oaks range. The first super-premium range from Recas Winery.

Recas Oaks Merlot is a red wine (dry) barricaded for 9 months in 22 new barriques of French origin from Dargeaux & Jaegle. After which is bottled without filtration. Then matured for another 18 months in the bottle before release on the market.

Color: the wine has a distinctive intense crimson red color.

Bouquet: opening on the nose with structured aromas of ripe black fruits, such as blackberries, blueberries and black cherries. In the background, you can feel the touches of vanilla brought by the wood of the French barrels; and those of sweet spices: cloves, cinnamon and cardamom.

Taste: on the palate we find the same layers of black fruit; vanilla; and sweet spices.Together with good acidity, well-defined body by fairly present but velvety tannins and well-integrated alcohol. A wine with a long aftertaste. Suitable for aging for at least 5-7 years.

Culinary associations: duck, lamb and filet mignon dishes. Ripened, semi-hard Comté or Gruyere type cheeses. Savory tarts and desserts based on dark chocolate and sweet spices.

Serving temperature: 14 – 16 °C.
