Jidvei

Jidvei Winery is a winery in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains in the rolling hills of Transylvania. Jidvei wines have been known since the feudal era, when Transylvania was also called "Wineland" (Weinland).

The wines is considered to be the second motherland of the Tarnave Wine Region. Tarnave recognizes that in the second half of the thirteenth century there was a mass colonization by the Saxons from the Mosel Rhine Valley.

The vineyard is spread on a surface of about 2000 hectares (with around 250 hectares renewed every year). It is situated at an altitude between 200-500 meters, with most of the vineyards set on southern exposure slopes. This makes the sun rays and atmospheric circulation to favor vine cultures.
